I LOVE designing laundry rooms. Possibly because laundry is my favorite "chore." Call me crazy, but I find the entire process relaxing - and that includes laundry for my boys and husband that works outside (insert stinky face emoji). We spend plenty of time in our laundry rooms and I believe it should be an enjoyable space!
Here are some things to consider when making your Laundry Room "wish list":
Counter Space
If you have a front loading washer and dryer, you may be able to use them as a surface, but installing a countertop over or beside the units is a game changer. No socks falling behind or in between, just a flat smooth spot to fold and sort.
Drying Zones
Incorporate different drying zones based off your unique space and family activities. Hanging racks, flat lying racks, hooks, and rods for hangers are all great options for those "air dry" items.
Sink
Some stains are stubborn, and sometimes its good to give your items a rinse before loading in the washing machine.
Cabinetry
Laundry products aren't always pretty. Installing closed door cabinetry allows you to keep those items out of sight yet easy to access.
Make it FUN!
Incorporate something that makes you smile! Possibly a gorgeous light fixture, patterned tile, or fun paint color.
Making the family laundry room a place you want to spend time in is such a joy. I would love to do that for you!
