As we inch closer and closer to the holidays, I wanted to take a moment and share my home's decor this year. It always brings me so much joy to bring our treasured items out each year and even more joy to share it with others!
Soothing blues are my favorite, so our color scheme has been a mix of Ivory, Smokey Blue, and Silver. Gold is very on trend now and can look amazing, but I personally love cool silvers in my home at the holidays.
Our tree consists of white, navy, light blue, silver, and crystal ornaments. For garland, gorgeous crystals that effortlessly drape over the branches. Poinsettias give the finishing touch and are placed evenly over the tree.
Even though this is a "themed" tree, I am sure to incorporate our family memories. Each year, I get an ornament within the color scheme to hold our annual family picture. The heart of our home stays front and center throughout the holiday season.
Fun fact: most our ornaments are shatterproof. We have young crazy boys running around so I limit ornaments I would get upset over breaking for now.
This is to say, YES, you can have a stunning home at Christmas while having littles at home. You just need to make a few adjustments :)
My style is always about casual elegance and simple sophistication, which is why our garland is just that.
Real touch Norfolk Pine garland is tied to the railings and finished off with velvet smokey blue ribbon and silver bells (cue the song silver bells...silver bells....). Warm yellow fairy lights are wrapped around giving them a nice glow in the evenings.
Traditional touches are placed through the home, such as this silver crystal candelabra, stacked books, and mercury glass ornaments in a wooden bowl with greenery.
Be sure to check my Instagram for these cute wooden nutcrackers I made! If you can't find decor you like, DIY it yourself.
I hope you've enjoyed this peek into my home this Christmas. I wish you a warm holiday season filled with love, joy and happiness.
XOXO - Alicia
